Applications are available for the City of Fayetteville Community Police Advisory Board. The Fayetteville City Council established the Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB) in August. The Council approved the charter for the CPAB on August 23.

The City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) are partners for two fall plantings in the downtown area. The plantings will take place on October 7 and October 18. The Oct. 7 plantings will involve placing leafy greens and flowers inside the “Hurley Pots” along Hay St.

Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) Adaptive Sports athletes resume play Saturday, September 11. Anyone is welcome to watch the Flag Football games at the universally accessible field outside Massey Hill Recreation Center. Game times are 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

On Saturday September 18, community cleanups will take place in the City of Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, and unincorporated areas of Cumberland County. The goal is to combat health, environmental, and economic harm caused by litter.

The FAST Transit Center on Franklin Street served as the site for a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on August 14. FAST Team members helped with clinic set up – moving chairs, storing vaccines supplies and displaying signs.

Parks and Recreation Rangers led the Moth Night 2021 event at Clark Park. According to Park Ranger Supervisor Jennifer Smith, more than 20 people participated. Smith says that number was the most ever and families enjoyed it.
