The Fayetteville Fire Department is comprised of 350 professional firefighters manning three shifts in 17 stations across the city. Multiple specialty teams and units are available as local, state and regional resources to include Hazardous Materials, Technical Rescue, Fire Investigation, Community Risk Reduction and other focus areas in public safety. If you are looking for a place to build a life, family and career; Fayetteville has something for everyone.

A career with the Fayetteville Fire Department starts right here. The journey to become a Firefighter is very different from any other occupation outside of public safety. The application, testing and waiting period can take between 4 and 12 months to complete. But I assure you, if you are selected to serve as a Firefighter, it will be well worth the time, effort, and wait. Please take time to read all the information provided here and begin today to prepare physically and mentally for the process.
