Paid parking rates for Holiday events
The City of Fayetteville will charge the $5 special event parking rate during the hours of noon - 6 p.m. on Friday, November 26 during the Dickens Holiday event.

Annual E-Waste Drive Held in Honor of America Recycles Day
The City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, and Sustainable Sandhills will host an Electronic Waste Drive on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Cumberland County Courthouse. The hours of the event are 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Input needed for FAST Listening Session and Rider Survey
Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) leaders will hear feedback during a Virtual Community Meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Comments on the future direction for FAST are welcome. The event is open to the public.

Loose Leaf Season Dates Set for Residential Pickup
Loose Leaf Season seasonal pickup service will begin in Fayetteville on Monday, November 22, 2021. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreations personnel will be utilizing specialized equipment to collect residential loose leaves by zip code.

New Airport logo to appear in holiday ads
Look for the new Fayetteville Regional Airport logo! The updated design is mostly red and blue. It will appear in video and print advertisements during the holiday travel season.

Packing meals for those in need
Throughout the year, the City of Fayetteville supports the United Way of Cumberland County (UWCC). Nearly 40 City employees registered to participate in the UWCC Annual Campaign Kickoff event on August 26.

A Fall Farewell after 30 years of service
After 30 years and three months of dedicated service to the City of Fayetteville, Larry White retired on October 1, 2021. Larry was hired on July 14, 1991 with Cumberland County. He worked out of Arnette Park his entire career with the City, as a Maintenance Worker.

Be inspired! Health & Wellness Specialist Kristen Biedermann completed a 13-mile race in August. She finished the Spartan Beast Half Marathon in Glen Jean, West Virginia.

Neighbors get easy access to virtual meeting
A great idea became a reality at the August 24 Murchison Choice neighborhood meeting. The in person meeting was canceled due to COVID concerns. That did not stop the Economic and Community Development team from collecting feedback.

Mayor Colvin rescinds City Mask Mandate
Today, Mayor Mitch Colvin issued a Sixth Amendment to the State of Emergency for the City of Fayetteville. The Mask Mandate will be rescinded within the corporate limits of Fayetteville at 12:00 a.m., November 1, 2021.

New lights for more play at Jordan Soccer Complex
Operating hours for Jordan Soccer Complex will expand following the addition of new lights. Light installations wrapped up on Oct. 22. New lights allow for more competition and play on all fields. The soccer complex includes eight fields, public parking and access to the Cape Fear River Trail.

Registration open for Women in the Fire Service Day
The Fayetteville Fire Department’s first Women in the Fire Service Day will take place on Saturday, October 23. The event hours are 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The location is: Fayetteville Regional Fire Training Facility at 3065 Radar Road.
