FAST hiring fair can be quick path to new career
New applicants are welcome to attend the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) hiring fair tomorrow at Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers Street. The event hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Candidates can apply on site and do on-the-spot interviews with FAST leaders.

City Attorney elected to state municipalities board
The City of Fayetteville’s top attorney, Karen McDonald, was selected for a position as an officer on the board of the North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM). McDonald is currently the President of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Attorneys (NCAMA), a branch of NCLM.

Labor of Love: City employees serve as Top Dogs at Dogwood Festival
Crowds returned to the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival in April. The full-scale event was held at Festival Park for the first time since the start of the pandemic. It’s estimated 215,000 people attended over three days.

Cat owner thanks Fire Engine Two Team for saving her pet
A cat is alive and recovering thanks to Fayetteville firefighters. The Engine two team saved “Fatty Patty” from a fire along Mesa Court on the morning of March 10. The firefighters used a thermal imager and found the cat in the living room and then removed her from the home.

A career choice that can save lives; 911 Center will onboard new employees
New beginnings happen in the Spring! In the coming months, the City 911 Communications Center will onboard new employees. Members of the Communications team met face to face with Telecommunicator applicants at hiring fairs on April 12 and 16 at Kiwanis Rec Center.

Coleman awarded NC Airports Association’s highest honor
The Director of the Fayetteville Regional Airport, Dr. Toney Coleman, has been awarded the 2022 Willard G. Plentl Aviation Professional of the Year Award from the North Carolina Airports Association (NCAA).
