Fayetteville City Council Adopts Fiscal Year 2025 Budget
The City of Fayetteville adopted the fiscal year 2025 budget, totaling $320.9 million on June 24. Councilmembers unanimously voted to adopt the budget during a Regular Council meeting held in the council chambers at city hall.

Over 140 people attended Town Hall featuring Mayor and Small Business Regional Administrator
The City of Fayetteville and the Small Business Administration (SBA) co-hosted a Town Hall for Small Businesses on June 13 at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Golden LEAF Foundation Awards City of Fayetteville $1 Million

Fayetteville Earns Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
The City of Fayetteville has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The City won for its annual budget document for Fiscal Year 2024, which began in July 2023.

Fayetteville pool visits top 10,000 in first week
A total of 10,248 people visited the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation’s pools from May 27 to June 2. Lake Rim Park Aquatic Center saw the most opening week visits with 4,198 people. As temperatures warm and the school year ends, pool attendance is expected to rise.

Smoke Alarm event to be held Saturday June 1
The Fayetteville Fire Department will take part in the statewide “Smoke Alarm Saturday” campaign on Saturday, June 1. Smoke Alarm Saturday is a one-day, statewide smoke alarm canvassing event to bring awareness for the need to have working smoke alarms in homes.

Airport hosts ACE Academy for Youth
Applications are now available for the youth Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy hosted by the Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY). The two-day academy will be held on Aug. 5 and 6 at the Fayetteville Regional Airport’s Fire Training Facility.
