Be inspired! Health & Wellness Specialist Kristen Biedermann completed a 13-mile race in August. She finished the Spartan Beast Half Marathon in Glen Jean, West Virginia. The race included 36 obstacles and 2,800 feet of elevation change. Biedermann also completed the Spartan Sprint in Mill Springs and the Spartan Super in Fayetteville. All together, the events are the Spartan Trifecta.
“In all three races when I crossed the line, I had a feeling of accomplishment,” Biedermann said. “This was even more so in this last race. After nearly 15 miles of grueling obstacles, distance, elevation, heat. I endured pain, blisters, literally climbing a mountain. It was a sense of relief, to be done, but also that I finished that race AND completed my goal of earning my Trifecta.”
Biedermann tries to do some type of workout every day. Her advice for you – just do it. “There will be moments where you want to stop and quit, but getting to the end is so worth it,” Biedermann said.
City of Fayetteville employees should look for Biedermann’s “Wellness Wednesday” emails. The emails may include recipes, health events and links to health resources.
