The City of Fayetteville’s top attorney, Karen McDonald, was selected for a position as an officer on the board of the North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM). McDonald is currently the President of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Attorneys (NCAMA), a branch of NCLM.

Crews continue to collect bags from the Fayetteville Beautiful citywide cleanup. Parks and Recreation Management Analyst Jessica Howell organized the event, along with community partners.

Crowds returned to the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival in April. The full-scale event was held at Festival Park for the first time since the start of the pandemic. It’s estimated 215,000 people attended over three days.

A cat is alive and recovering thanks to Fayetteville firefighters. The Engine two team saved “Fatty Patty” from a fire along Mesa Court on the morning of March 10. The firefighters used a thermal imager and found the cat in the living room and then removed her from the home.
