Mayor Colvin and Council introduced Mr. Qu'Derrick Covington and two youth mentees from the Tulsa Initiative focusing on entrepreneurship for BIPOC youth.
Mayor Colvin and Council also recognized Judge Toni King and two young men who presented information about Reclaiming Futures, a community-based youth mentoring program.
Council Member Ingram noted Giving Tuesday this week and encouraged residents to consider support for organizations in the community.

Council appropriated $106,860 from a US DOJ grant for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program to upgrade and support existing PTZ cameras and license plate readers, vehicle de-escalation equipment, voice projection systems, helmets and traffic speed alerts. Council approved an updated demolition ordinance on structures determined to be dangerous. The properties are located at 6335 Applecross Avenue and 6545 Raeford Road. OTHER ITEMS OF BUSINESS
City Council approved a gap financing request from East Carolina Community Development, Inc. for a total amount of $683,968 to develop Cliffmore Park Apartments, a 72-unit senior community affordable for households earning below 60-percent of the area median income.
