The event hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location will be at the Fayetteville Regional Fire Training Facility located at 3065 Radar Road. Female Firefighter candidates will have the opportunity to hear from current female Fayetteville Firefighters, and gain insight into the organization and the fire service, from a woman’s perspective. Participants can ask questions, obtain information on the hiring process and practice components of the candidate physical ability test. Spots are limited. Call 910-676-1716 if you would like to attend Women in the Fire Service Day.
“Many women don’t think of the fire service as a career opportunity,” Recruitment Captain Stephen Shakeshaft said. “We invite them to learn, ask questions and hear about the unique rewards of the career from other women, currently serving as Firefighters.” The Fayetteville Fire Department’s open recruitment season begins in January 2023. At that time, you can apply online to become a Firefighter.
The Fayetteville Fire Department has received a Class One rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO), which is the best rating awarded. The Fire Department is also internationally accredited through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).
