  • Suspect Charged with Statutory Rape

    (Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Youth Services Unit have charged a suspect arrested in November of 2016 for sex offenses with additional sex offenses involving a different victim. The latest charges stem from an incident that occurred during the first six (6) months of 2016.

  • Assistant Chief of Police Graduates from FBI National Academy

    On December 16, 2016, Assistant Chief Michael Petti with the Fayetteville Police Department graduated from the 266th session of the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia. The National Academy is by invitation only for Law Enforcement Officers from around the world. Less than half of 1% of law enforcement officers are selected to attend this training course. The 266th Session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 48 states. Included in the class are members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 20 international countries, five military organizations, and eight federal civilian organizations.

  • Update to FPD Officer Involved in Shooting

    (Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at approximately 9:54 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a 911 call from a child who advised that his mother had been stabbed by her boyfriend at a residence along the 800 block of Bedrock Drive. The two (2) children in the home escaped the violent act by climbing out of a window and running to a neighboring home to call 911

  • Intruder Shot by Homeowner Released From Hospital

    (Fayetteville, NC) – The intruder who was shot by a homeowner along the 5200 block of Catalpa Road on Thursday, December 1, 2016 has been released from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and has been taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center.
