Traffic Fatality

(Fayetteville, NC) – Members of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit are investigating a crash that occurred on November 24, 2023 on Stacy Weaver Drive, which resulted in one fatality.

On November 24, 2023, at approximately 9:53 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to Stacy Weaver Drive to a report of a vehicle crash involving a Toyota and a Chrysler. The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as Robert McGirt (27 years old) of Fayetteville. His family has been notified. The driver of the Chrysler was taken to the hospital for minor injuries sustained from the crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed the Toyota crossed the center line of the roadway and was struck by the Chrysler.
