Fayette-Chill Polar Plunge to Benefit Special Olympics of NC
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Saturday, January 21, 2017, officers from the Fayetteville Police Department and community members will come together for the FPD’s first “Polar Plunge” to benefit the Special Olympics of North Carolina.
The Fayetteville Police Department hosts our first “Polar Plunge” to benefit nearly 40,000 North Carolina Special Olympic athletes across the state. The event will take place at the Keith Bates - College Lakes Recreation Center, located at 4945 Rosehill Road.

Those wishing to participate may register electronically by visiting http://www.firstgiving.com/sonc/Fayette-chill. Alternatively, on-site registration will be available on January 21, 2017 from 8:00 am – 9:45am. Online electronic registration is suggested. The Polar Plunge will take place at 10:00 am.
Registration costs to benefit the Special Olympics of North Carolina are as follows:
- Individual Plunger: $25.00
- Student Plunger (K-12, must present valid student ID): $20.00
- Dip-A-Toe (Dip your toe in the water for a good cause): $10.00
- Plunge Team (Up to 6 person team): $125.00
- Student Team (Up to 6 student team, K-12), $100.00
All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics of North Carolina.
