Shooting Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, December 01, 2016 at approximately 7:48 pm Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting along the 5200 block of Catalpa Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two houses sustained damage from an unknown suspect who fired a weapon in the area. In addition to the damaged homes one victim sustained a gunshot wound. The male victim was struck by at least one gunshot and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he is currently listed in serious condition.
Detectives with the FPD’s Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The name of the victim is currently being withheld until detectives can contact the victim's immediate family.
