Homicide Investigation (Update)

(Fayetteville, NC) –The victim of the homicide that occurred on the 500 block of Albany Street has been identified as Jasper Collins, (Black male, 64 years old) from Fayetteville NC. His next of kin has been notified.

There is no additional information to be released at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

  Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC)- On June 3, 2024, at approximately 2:34 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a shooting on the 500 block of Albany Street.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation at the residence led to a male victim being shot. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
