Death Investigation Updated to Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – The death of Crystal Loughran, who was found deceased in the wooded area at Fieldcrest Street and Cedric Street on October 11, has been ruled a homicide.

Update to Death Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) –The body that was discovered in the area of Fieldcrest Street and Cedric Street on October 12, 2023 has been identified as Crystal Loughran of Fayetteville, NC (white female) age 40.

Death Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation in the area of Fieldcrest Street and Cedric Street.

On October 11, 2023 at approximately 7:50 p.m. officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Fieldcrest Street and Cedric Street to a report of a body in a field. An individual was looking for his dog in a wooded area on Cedric Street when he found the body of a female. She was pronounced deceased on scene. Her name is being withheld until family is identified and located.

This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it is available.
