Offender In Abduction Case Charged
(Fayetteville, NC) – The offender in the abduction case has been identified, arrested, and charged.
Damien Antwon Evans Jr. (black male, 21 years old) has been charged with two counts of First Degree Kidnapping, Assault With A Deadly Weapon, Assault With A Deadly Weapon With A Minor Present, Communicating Threats, and Interfering With 911 Communications.
The investigation has revealed the firearm involved was discharged into the air as an intimidation tactic to ensure the victim got into the vehicle with the offender. The victim was not harmed by the shots fired. Evans and the victim were involved in a domestic relationship at the time of the incident. The victim is in the process of being reunited with her loved ones.

Update to Possible Abduction
(Fayetteville, NC) – Shalen Felder (black female, 22 years old) has been safely located in Surf City, North Carolina with her infant daughter. The offender is in custody. Charges are forthcoming.
This is an active investigation. More information will be released as it is available.

Possible Abduction
(Fayetteville, NC) – The Fayetteville Police Department is currently investigating a potential abduction that just occurred.

On August 18, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Second Street and Lynn Avenue to a report of shots fired. Upon arriving on scene, officers began speaking with witnesses, who were able to provide additional information. The preliminary investigation has revealed a black female had been involved in a potential domestic altercation with a male. This altercation led to the male firing shots. The female was then taken from the area by the offender.
The female has been identified as Shalen Felder (black female, 22 years old).
The suspect was seen leaving the area in a dark color small crossover SUV.
The Fayetteville Police Department is asking anyone with information on this incident, or the whereabouts of the victim or suspect, to call 911. The Fayetteville Police Department has mobilized Command Staff and Specialized Units to investigate this incident. This is an active investigation.
